i am now a part of the bpo industry. i recently gained employment at teletech holdings, inc. in lipa, batangas. i figured its something i can do on my spare time -- all 9 hours of it. so far, i've learned a lot about the industry itself and the particular account that i was assigned to. and lemme tell you, i used to think that it was as easy as picking up a call, talk to the customer and hang up. that was it. boy, was i wrong! how? well, there are a lot of parameters to follow and metrics to be met. for one, you have to try and resolve the situation in a very short amount of time. then document, track and make reports all at the same time.
it can be very challenging especially with the language barrier and the ever present racial discrimination. but then its really up to you to work around those and provide a clear cut solution that is both simple and effective. how do i fare in my new work place? i have no idea as of yet. its too early to tell and its certainly too early to make assumptions. i told myself i'd give it a month or two to see how everything will turn out.
wish me luck...
