Through The Lens: A Photo Gallery

An ever changing gallery of pictures (and videos) -- pictures of people, events, places and whatever else that catches my attention. This is basically my life, my interests, my personality as seen through the lens of a camera, mine or someone else's, captured and frozen in time. You can probably see something that you can use to blackmail me with.

Ok, just kidding... my family just takes tons of pictures. New pictures are uploaded all the time so come back and browse again...

It's a Black and White World

this is my own personal take on the world as i see it through my camera. i love black and white photos because it leaves a lot to interpretation. be it a portrait, a landscape or just a different angle on an everyday item. the interplay of lights and shadows, of contrast and brightness and its timelessness just brings out the different levels of beauty. there are no colors to distract you or spoon feed you one particular point in a photo. instead, you are forced to see the photo as a whole... evoking emotions and opinions as you see fit. what others see in the photo may not exactly be what you see... the visual experience is your own and no one else's.

why genre? lots of reasons. it was a fun morning at the beach. they were taken on thanksgiving day and was processed and framed then given to our respective parents as a present.

my most recent trip to the philippines. it was hectic as usual but so much fun. so many people made this trip worth its while and i can't thank them enough!
